Against the run of play in a democratic setting, the President General Fathers in Faith for Good Governance and founder of Believers Assembly, Prelate Prof. Isaiah Issong has said even if he is the only one vote for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s preferred aspirant, Pastor Umo Eno he will win the governorship.
The man of God revealed that the term succession is a divine decree announced and pronounced by authority.
Speaking with newsmen after prayer convergence in Uyo, the president, Fathers in Faith for Good Governance, noted that since Akwa Ibom is named after God, adding that there is no way God would not have a say in who becomes the next Governor.
“When we talk about succession, people who don’t know the intricacies of politics believe it is all about voting. Voting is a mere political show.
“Succession is like a relay race, I can handover the baton to who I choose. Succession is a Biblical language found in 1 Kings. If anybody will fight the succession plan, I refer the person to Isaiah 22v22.
“Succession is a divine decree announced and pronounced by an authority. Udom is the authority in the state, he has announced and pronounced a successor. Even if it is only my vote, Umo Eno will win.
“Umo Eno’s election will not be inconclusive because the church had affirmed it.”
He recalled instances where leaders in the Bible like Moses, Joshua and Solomon were not elected by people, but appointed to take over leadership positions.
