Qua Iboe Church, Stadium Road, Abak in Abak Central Superintendency has rounded off its seven days Mega Prayer Conference penultimate Sunday, 4th July, 2021.
The programme which commenced on Monday, 28th June, 2021 with a road walk around Abak metropolis, had as its theme “The Gilgal Experience” with text drawn from Joshua 5:9.Setting the ball rolling, the Resident Minister, Rev. Dr. Okworo Martin Okworo AICMC, who is also the Superintendent, Abak Central Superintendency intimated the congregation that Gilgal is a place where reproaches are rolled away (Joshua 5:9) as well as a place for deliverance and victory (Joshua 11:5-9).
He maintained that when reproach is rolled away, a ‘nobody’ would become ‘somebody’ and stagnation would cease.
A Guest Speaker, Rev. Ime Matthew Obong, who did justice to the sub-theme “Enough of this Reproach” sees reproach as a disgraceful situation in the life of a believer. Drawing his message from I Samuel 17:26-33, the man of God reminded the congregation that to put a stop to reproach, one should be prepared to stand up and fight the battle, as according to him, “God does not fight for people but will strengthen you to fight the battle”.
He cited an example of Goliath who defiled the army of the most High God for a long time and God was watching until David stood up to challenge him and God endowed him and finally gave him victory over Goliath. He maintained that “You will never win a battle you don’t fight” and “you will never conquer what you don’t confront”. The clergy affirmed to come out of reproach, areas of reproach in one’s life must be identified and dealt with spiritually through prayers, fixing one’s eyes on Jesus, His grace and finishing words (1 Samuel 17:50) among others.
Pastor Moses Robert Udoh of Qua Iboe Church, Midim Waterside, a Guest Speaker, who anchored the all night vigil on Wednesday, 30th June, 2021, reminded Christians that, to roll away the shame, Christians should at all times carry out Divine Instructions, have unshakeable and unquenchable faith in God, refuse to give up in prayers (I Samuel 1:13), be faithful in your services to God as well as keep reminding God of His promises over your life (Daniel 9:2-4).
Pastor Udoh maintained that once believers adhere strictly to these conditions, there certainly would be no more shame as they would become a reference point as well as receive double portion of honour.
He further stressed that people will argue about your past circumstances (John 9:6-9) even as your mouth will be filled with laughter (Psalm 126:1-3).Bringing the weeklong convocation to an end on Sunday, 4th July, 2021, the Resident Minister, Qua Iboe Church, Stadium Road and Superintendent, Abak Central Superintendency, Rev. Dr. Okworo Martin, held his flocks spell bound when he spoke on the sub-theme “The Gilgal Altar and its Significance”.Gilgal, according to the charismatic man of God is a place of settlement (Joshua 4:19), a place of memorial and worship (Joshua 4:20), a place of circumcision (Joshua 5:7-8), a place where lasting and permanent blessing are received, a place of receiving revelation and strategy and a place where kings are made among others. He admonished Christians faithful to always remain steadfast and prayerful, and that from henceforth, as far as Jehovah God liveth, their reproaches would certainly be rolled away. The prayer convocation equally witnessed song ministration by various choir groups, testimonies, rendition of special numbers, healings as well as new converts.
