As part of his father’s day message, the Senior Pastor of Insight Bible Church Uyo, Dr. Sylvanus Ukafia has admonished parents to be intentional in raising their children as the next generation of fathers.
He enjoined parents to create a robust relationship in the family that binds the people together.
The cleric handed down the admonition yesterday during Sunday service while preaching on “Fathering your boy” at the church auditorum, Nsikak Eduok avenue, Uyo.
Taking his text from Luke 15: 18 , Pastor Ukafia described fathering as a real work that means more than just providing things.
Emphasizing on the above scripture, he asked parents to teach and transfer life skills to their children, care about them and people working for them.
“How can I get my son to believe in me like this? Call me when he is broke? Come back home when he has lost all he has instead of contemplating sucide?”
The cleric noted that everyman who made tremendous impact in life are traceable to their family and charged parents to create lasting positive memories for the children and room for easy communication.
Speaking to parents, the officiating minister tasked spouses to love their partners as part of rising responsible children; noting that children emulate example from parents than instructions given.
“Your son will soon be a father, what training have you given him. Your daughter will soon be a mother, what training have you given her.
“Your greatest worry for your girl should be you asking her why haven’t you marry by now and she will tell you that she has not see a man who loves her like you love my mother or your son and he will tell you that he has not seen a woman who loves and treat him as mummy treats you my father”.
